These beautiful ducks were photographed not far from the inner city at Nudgee Water Hole. This remnant water course is closely bounded on two sides by horrendous major roadways. The noise of continuous traffic is almost overwhelming. And yet these resilient creatures remain at one with nature, apparently unperturbed.

Background

Anton Neilson is a medical doctor who has a life-long passion for nature, particularly our avian friends. Since his recent retirement Anton has purchased a good quality camera lens and embarks on regular travels into the bush or reserves around Brisbane, where he lives.

When he is not taking photographs, Anton turns the occasional piece of wood, providing it has not come from an endangered species.
