Artist's Background

Always a dabbler of creative pursuits, Lorayn Walcroft took up her arts practice seriously in 1998. While living in New Zealand, she helped set up and run The Real Tart- Taranaki Art Gallery; as well as the Eltham Stage Gallery in Stratford.

Her work was highly commended at the Taranaki Arts Festival in 2006 and 2007. She has held solo shows at The Real Tart and participated in annual shows from 2005 to 2008 at the Percy Thompson Gallery, Stratford.

Lorayn employs a wide variety of medium, including drawing, pastels, oils, acrylics and collage.

Of late she has turned her eye to Beyond A Doll: Art Dolls that take discarded Barbies to a completely new and creative dimension.
